Batch print scanning is our most affordable way to digitize a large collection of loose photo prints. Each image runs through our high-quality flatbed scanner and receives automatic color balancing, orientation correction, and output at your chosen resolution. It's the right choice when you have a lot of prints to digitize and want clean, usable files at a price that makes sense for the volume.

Batch scanning is designed for volume. If you have a shoebox full of old snapshots, a collection of prints from a family member's estate, or years of vacation photos that have never been digitized, batch scanning is the most practical and cost-effective way to get them into a digital format. Rather than scanning each print individually with hands-on technician attention, your prints run through a high-quality flatbed scanner in sequence, with automatic color correction and orientation applied to each image.
The result is a clean, consistent set of digital files — properly oriented, color-balanced, and ready for sharing, printing, or long-term storage. It's not the same as our hand-adjusted professional scanning service, but for most everyday photo collections it delivers excellent results at a fraction of the price.
Batch scanning works with standard loose photo prints from 3x5 up to 8x12. The prints should be unframed and reasonably flat — curled or heavily wrinkled prints can cause feed issues and may be better suited to our professional scanning service, which handles each print individually. We accept color prints, black and white prints, and standard photo lab output from any era.
A few things that affect scan quality worth knowing up front: prints with surface damage (deep scratches, heavy mold, significant fading) will scan as-is — the batch process captures what's there but doesn't include manual retouching or restoration. If you have prints in poor condition that need more than basic color correction, our photo restoration service or professional print scanning would be a better fit.
Standard resolution (300 dpi) is the right choice for the vast majority of print collections. At 300 dpi, a 4x6 print produces a digital file large enough to share online, display on screen, or reprint at the same size or smaller. It's the format most people use for organizing and sharing family photos digitally, and it keeps file sizes manageable when you're working with large collections.
High resolution (600 dpi) produces a file with four times as much image data. This is worth the 50% surcharge if you plan to reprint photos significantly larger than the original, are archiving prints for long-term preservation with maximum detail retained, or have smaller originals like wallet-size or 3x5 prints that you want to enlarge later. When in doubt, 300 dpi is the practical choice — you can always rescan specific prints at higher resolution later if needed.
Contact us before you ship. Get in touch first so we can confirm your order details, give you the current shipping address, and walk you through how to prepare your prints. This avoids any surprises and ensures your package arrives ready to process.
Pack your prints carefully. Loose prints should be packed flat between rigid cardboard or foam board to prevent bending in transit. Rubber bands can leave marks on print surfaces, so avoid those — use a rubber band-free bundle or a resealable bag inside the padded envelope or box. There's no need to sort or organize your prints before sending; we handle the scanning in sequence as received.
We scan, correct, and deliver. Once we receive your prints and confirm the order details, we'll send an invoice via email through Square. Work begins as soon as payment is received. Turnaround is 7–10 business days from that point. When your scans are complete, we send a secure download link by email. Your digital files are organized and ready to save. If you'd prefer delivery on a USB drive or CD, those options are available for a small additional charge.
Your originals come back to you. We return all prints by mail once the job is complete. Return shipping is a flat $12.95, billed when we ship your package back.
Batch scanning is the right fit when you have a collection of prints in decent condition and your primary goal is getting them digitized affordably. It's ideal for estate photo collections, decades of family snapshots, or any situation where the volume is high and you want a clean digital archive without the cost of hand-adjusted individual scanning.
If your collection includes prints with significant damage that you want corrected, or if you have prints that are particularly meaningful and deserve individual attention, take a look at our professional print scanning service — it includes hand adjustment of every scan for color, brightness, and contrast. For everything else, batch scanning gets the job done well and at a price that makes it practical to tackle a large collection all at once.
